Seattle Attractions

There are a number of great places to visit in Seattle and its surrounding regions. A trip to this city is incomplete without a visit to Pike Place Market, the internationally known marketplace. This location, which started operating in the year 1907, provides handmade crafts and fresh produce. The shopping experience is further enhanced by enjoying performances by street musicians. Also, the market flaunts off about 200 businesses including almost everything from herbal apothecaries, kitchen supplies and books to toys and antique stores. It is a nice option to give a full day to this popular Pike Place Market.

Then, the Seattle Center is situated on low hill north of downtown. In fact, the most spectacular feature of this entertainment center and park is the 605 feet tall building, the Seattle Space Needle. For a small amount, you can easily ride to a great view of the metropolitan region like Lake Union, Puget Sound, Lake Washington and nearby mountains.

The Waterfall Gardens is another Seattle attraction that is not a flowery, grassy garden. It pictures the Japanese zen oasis with rocky and high waterfalls that blocks the city sounds on all sides. With few benches, tables and plants, this is the perfect place for any couple who are looking forward to escape from the busy city and enjoy intimate moments.

Seward Park is the one located in close proximity to Lake Washington. This park offers 300 acres of biking, walking paths, forests and lush gardens. Other places of visit include the playgrounds, small beaches, prime picnic places, art studios and amphitheatres. The Seward Park Environmental and Audubon Center is situated in a historical house near the entrance that hosts community and youth activities and special events. Just like you can’t visit Paris without experiencing the popular Eiffel Tower, in the same manner, you can’t visit the city of Seattle without visiting the Space Needle. Designed for the 1962 fair, the Space Needle was made the historical landmark of the city in the year 1999.

Even the Washington State Ferries serve to be one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Washington state. It serves to the second largest means of transit in the state and the biggest ferry system in the entire US. So no matter what you believe, a ferry is surely the best way to experience magnificent and spectacular mountains and waters of Seattle.

After the much known Great Seattle Fire, 1889, this city was made again over top of ruins. The Underground Touring takes people through hidden subterranean paths that were once the primary storefronts and roadways of downtown Seattle. This place tells the stories of people who worked and lived there. Even the subterranean walkways have become dry but its history has not.

Last but not least, the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is another popular Seattle attraction that is situated in Tacoma. The aquarium and zoo are situated at this Point Defiance Park which is a great park that is nestled along Southern Puget Sound waters. So your visit to Seattle will be incomplete without experiencing the attractions mentioned above.
